The Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer Technology Center is a remote access website for Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer lawyers and staff. Clients and others are invited to visit our award winning web site at www.bdplaw.com.

Attention IMPORTANT: Terminal Server Update!
In the recent past, you may have created a new shortcut to connect to vTS1, our terminal server. In order to allow for more users to access the remote server simultaneously, we have added a few servers that all point to a central DNS path. This will automatically load balance users to provide the best remote experience possible! Please see the documentation to the right in order to update your shortcut to point to vt.bdplaw.net, rather than a specific IP address, which you may have created before.

Attention Looking for Citrix?
Citrix has been discontinued and the new Windows 2008 Remote server is now available. NEWLY UPDATED instructions are available on the right-hand side of this page, under "Connecting to BDP's Terminal Server". Note that if you had previously set up a shortcut to BDP vTS1, you will need to use the update instructions, also available on the right. To update a Mac shortcut, see the link "BDP vTS1 for Mac Detailed Guide".

RSA Token Authentication is based upon the concept of the key and mechanical lock. The user must have a token in his or her possession in order to log in. New technology now allows BlackBerry and iPhone users to download an application to the device that will generate the code used to log in. For iPhone users, this application is called "RSA SecurID" and is available for free from the Apple App Store. For BlackBerry users, see the link on the right called "Downloading RSA Application for BlackBerry". Once the application is installed on either device, contact the Help Desk and an administrator will set up a token that uses a PIN to generate the login code. Passive tokens such as Bank Cards often combine with a password such as a PIN to help prevent copying or the use of a stolen token. Active tokens use an algorithm to generate a one-time password. RSA Secured key fobs generates the password based upon an internal clock. The password changes every 60 seconds, so stolen passwords are not usable for long. The security community has agreed that this system provides a reasonably safe and secure authentication methodology. Some active tokens incorporate a PIN which much be entered into the device to access the one-time password. This reduces the problem of lost or stolen tokens. If you would like to request a Keyfob, please contact the Help Desk.
